Extension To A Croft On The IslE Of Lewis

While most of HC Carpentry & Joinery’s work is in Nottingham and the surrounding villages, the chance to undertake an exciting project in the Island of Lewis was too good to miss. The client was looking to renovate and extend a traditional croft to provide a contemporary living space which remained faithful to the building’s roots.

Working with Dominic Marshall of Bounce Architects, HC Carpentry & Joinery built an extension clad in western red cedar and a complete new roof structure. The result was a stunning reinterpretation of a Scottish croft which retained the delineation between the old and the new building..
