The clients, who own a property on Ruddington Lane, Wilford were looking to build a detached garden annexe for a dependent relative. Their long, narrow garden called for a design which would provide practical living accommodation, yet not dominate the space.
The architect, Dominic Marshall of Bounce Architects, designed an L-shaped timber-framed building with an area of decking. Although spacious, the use of a flat roof system and timber cladding reduced the annexe’s visual impact, while adding to its appeal. The construction of the annexe and management of the project was undertaken by HC Carpentry & Joinery, who delivered a beautifully finished building which delights its owners and enhances its setting.
